Severe Droughts Threaten Water Security for Millions in Country NSW
The article discusses how the severe droughts from 2001-2007 and projected climate change impact water supplies in country NSW. The study evaluates the effectiveness of the '5/10/20 rules' used to manage water supply during droughts. Results show that the rules can maintain water supply with moderate restrictions during severe droughts. Some case studies also suggest the rules may need adjustments for future climate change scenarios.
