New pea hybrids promise higher yields and stronger plants for farmers.
The study looked at different pea varieties to see how they performed in two different planting conditions. They found that the F1 hybrids had more variation than the parent plants, especially in normal planting conditions. The traits with the most variability were pods per plant, biological yield per plant, and seed yield per plant. Seed yield per plant was strongly linked to biological yield per plant, pods per plant, plant height, days to maturity, and seeds per pod. Overall, the traits were not significantly affected by the timing of planting.
