Discovering parallels involves comparing different issues within Mormon studies. However, many studies lack a clear framework for evaluating these parallels. Part One of this review essay explores how parallels are used in literary comparison, highlighting the challenges and motivations behind these comparisons. Part Two introduces a methodological framework to assess parallels, aiming to address historical concerns related to using parallels to explain texts and Mormonism as a religious movement.
