Large farms in Ethiopia have positive effects on smallholder farmers, leading to increased use of fertilizer and improved seeds, higher yields, and better risk coping strategies, especially for maize crops. However, large farms do not create local jobs. These benefits are specific to certain crops and are mostly limited to areas near the large farms.
