Revolutionary Glyphosate-Resistant Soybeans Achieve Over 90% Weed Control
Glyphosate-resistant soybeans were tested for controlling weeds like common lambsquarters and giant foxtail. Planting soybeans in narrow rows and using lower glyphosate rates when weeds were small resulted in over 90% control. Timing of herbicide application was more important than the amount used, especially in wide-row plantings. Adding imazethapyr to glyphosate did not improve weed control or soybean yield.
