The study looked at ways to improve old office buildings in Copenhagen by renovating their facades. They tested four strategies: adding insulation outside, using a double-skin facade with the existing inner layer, using a double-skin facade with a new inner layer, and installing a curtain wall. The best results for reducing heating energy consumption were seen with external re-insulation and curtain wall options.
