New herbicide breakthrough boosts fingermillet yields and fights weed invasion!
Researchers at Birsa Agricultural University in India studied the effectiveness of herbicides on fingermillet crops. They tested different doses of 2,4-D herbicide and three pre-emergence herbicides on weed control and grain yield. The results showed that using 1.0 kg/ha of 2,4-D herbicide provided the same level of weed control and grain yield as having no weeds at all. This treatment also led to better yield attributes, fewer weeds, and lower weed weight compared to other herbicide doses tested.
