Hand weeding in lentil farming boosts yield and income significantly.
Chemical weed management in lentil was studied in Agra, Utter Pradesh. Different treatments were tested, including using a herbicide called pendimethalin and hand weeding. Hand weeding was the most effective in controlling weeds and resulted in the highest income. Pendimethalin also worked well but affected seed germination. Hand weeding led to the highest grain yield, showing a significant increase in yield compared to other treatments.
