Glacier in Russian Federation melting rapidly, impacting climate change in Siberia.
A study was done on the No.31 Glacier in Russia to see how it changed since 1958 and if it could be used for studying past climates. The glacier is about 3.85 km long and goes from 2728 m to 2050 m above sea level. The researchers found that the glacier is melting a lot and probably not good for studying ice cores. They also saw that the glacier has shrunk about 200 m and gotten lower by 20 m since the late 1950s.
