Groundnut-wheat cropping sequence boosts productivity and profitability in agriculture.
A study looked at different crop sequences on sandy-loam soils to see how they affect productivity and profits. The best sequence was groundnut followed by wheat, which gave the highest wheat yield, net returns, and benefit-cost ratio. Another good sequence was groundnut followed by Indian mustard. The most common sequence of maize followed by wheat didn't yield as much wheat. Groundnut-wheat was also the most efficient in terms of land and production.
