New guava genotypes bloom earlier, larger flowers, revolutionizing fruit production.
The researchers studied different types of guava plants to understand their flower size and flowering patterns. They looked at ten different genotypes and found that Sardar had the largest flowers, while 6/10 and 4/10 had the smallest. Some genotypes had more stamens than others. All the plants started flowering in September in winter and in April in the rainy season, except for Dharwad which flowered later. The shortest flowering time was seen in Dharwad, while 6/12 had the longest in winter and 6/12, 6/8, 4/10, and Hisar Safeda had the longest in the rainy season.
