Revolutionizing crop yields and soil fertility with nutrient management in Vertisols.
A study looked at how different ways of adding nutrients to soil affected soybean and sunflower crops over 13 years. They found that using a mix of organic and inorganic nutrients led to higher seed yields for both crops. The best combination was applying recommended NPK fertilizer and farmyard manure to soybean in the rainy season, and just NPK to sunflower in the winter. This method also increased overall productivity, soil fertility, and profits. So, using the right mix of nutrients can help farmers grow more crops, make more money, and keep their soil healthy.
