New herbicide boosts soybean yields, outperforms hand weeding.
A herbicide called Chlorimuron Ethyl was tested on soybean crops to control weeds like sedges and broad-leaved plants. The herbicide worked well on most weeds, except for some grasses. Early application of Chlorimuron was found to be the most effective. Soybean yields were significantly higher with herbicide treatments compared to letting the weeds grow unchecked. The best results were seen with two hand weedings and applying Chlorimuron at specific doses. Overall, using Chlorimuron helped increase soybean yields and profits for farmers.
