The study looked at iron and manganese in rice soils in West Bengal. They found that most iron forms were not soluble, while manganese forms were more soluble. Manganese levels were higher in soils with lower pH and more clay. Waterlogging increased manganese levels, especially in soils with more reducible manganese.
