Radial tires outperform bias ply tires in tractor wheel testing device.
A new testing device with a mechanical transmission was created to evaluate tractor wheel performance. The device had 24 speed options and sensors to measure torque, rotation, force, and fuel consumption. Tests were done on different surfaces and tire types, with radial ply tires performing the best.
