Tomato crop post-harvest losses in Peshawar Valley reach alarming 20%
The study looked at how many tomatoes were lost after being harvested in Peshawar valley in 2006. They found that 20% of the tomatoes grown were lost mainly during picking, handling, and transportation to markets. To reduce these losses, farmers need to learn better ways to package, process, and handle tomatoes after they are picked.
