New Weed Management Technique Boosts Maize Yield in Himalayas!
The study looked at different ways to control weeds in maize fields in the North-Western Himalayas. They found that using a combination of metolachlor and atrazine resulted in the highest grain yield by reducing weed density, especially Cyperus spp. Physical weed control methods also worked well in reducing Cyperus spp., but the grain yield was lower compared to the best chemical treatments due to early weed competition.
