New Rice Varieties Boost Yields and Food Security Worldwide
Genetic variability, heritability, and genetic advance were analyzed in 65 low land rice types. The environment had a big impact on the studied traits. Grains per panicle showed the highest variability, followed by plot yield and grain yield per plant. Traits like days to flowering, plant height, and grains per panicle had moderate to high heritability and genetic advance. Panicle length, plot yield, and other traits had moderate heritability with low genetic advance.
