Optimizing Fertilization Levels Boosts Maize Growth and Yield in Three Gorges.
The study looked at how different ways of adding nutrients to the soil affect the growth and grain yield of maize in the Three Gorges Region. They found that using a certain ratio of nitrogen and phosphorus led to an increase in grain weight, with the best results seen at a moderate level of fertilization. The size, height, and number of leaves of the maize plants also increased with fertilization. In low nitrogen-to-phosphorus ratios, production increased with higher fertilization levels, while in high ratios, production initially increased but then decreased. Overall, the best results were seen with moderate fertilization levels in both nutrient ratios.
