Feline Embryos Reveal Secrets to Boosting Fertility and Healthy Pregnancies
The study looked at how cat embryos grow and divide in a lab. Researchers watched how cells developed into different parts of the embryo. They saw that about 62% of embryos became early blastocysts. Some embryos matured into full blastocysts while others made it to hatching blastocysts. The number of cells in an embryo varied from 58 to 245, with the most cells found in hatching blastocysts. Day 8 blastocysts had the highest number of cells and inner cell mass, regardless of their shape. Early blastocysts had more stopped cells, and full blastocysts had the most dead cells. Understanding how embryos grow and change can help choose the best ones for future work.
