Revolutionary Hydroponics System Turns Wastewater into Valuable Resource
A small-scale hydroponics system in Stockholm was designed to treat domestic wastewater and remove nitrogen and phosphorus. The system uses different tanks and filters to clean the water. The researchers found that the system removed 90% of organic matter, reduced total nitrogen by 72%, and removed 47% of phosphorus. They believe that with further improvements, the system can achieve even better results.
