Manure Boosts Cornus kousa Growth, Soil Nutrients, and Chlorophyll Content
The study looked at how different amounts of pig and chicken manure affect the growth of Cornus kousa plants. They found that using a moderate amount of manure helped the seeds to sprout and grow well, but too much manure actually slowed down the growth. The plants treated with manure grew taller and heavier compared to those without manure. The manure also increased the amount of chlorophyll in the plants, which is important for photosynthesis. The plants absorbed more nutrients from the soil when treated with manure. However, using too much manure made the soil more acidic but increased the levels of nitrogen and other important nutrients.
