Nitrogen fertilization boosts winter wheat growth and soil health exponentially.
The study looked at how different levels of nitrogen fertilizer affect soil respiration in winter wheat fields in East China. They used three levels of nitrogen fertilization and a control group to measure soil respiration rates during the growing season. The results showed that higher nitrogen levels increased soil respiration and plant biomass significantly. Soil respiration also increased with soil temperature, with nitrogen fertilization promoting plant growth and stimulating soil respiration.
