Groundwater Recharge Basin Study Shows Promise for Water Quality Improvement.
Researchers conducted an experiment in Showamachi, Akita Prefecture to study how to recharge groundwater using a basin method. They used water from the Hachirogata reservoir and set up a basin, a pumping well, and observation wells to monitor water quality changes. The basin was 10x20m and 0.4m deep, with the pumping well at 14m and observation wells at 8m deep. Water samples were analyzed in a lab. The study aimed to confirm water storage and quality changes.
