Intuitive Database Designs Boost Information Access for All
The study looked at how different ways of organizing information in a database affect how quickly and accurately people can find the information they need. They made databases in three formats (spatial, tabular, verbal) for two different topics (airline and thesaurus) and asked users questions that required searching the database. The results showed that people are faster and more accurate when the format of the information in the database matches the type of question they are trying to answer. This means that it's important for databases to be organized in a way that makes it easy for users to find the information they need.
