They found that the delta's shape and features are shaped by a mix of river sediment, waves, and currents. The delta has many old river channels and sandy beach ridges, showing how the river has changed course in the past. The shoreline is moving back due to ocean forces, especially near old river mouths, while the current mouth is growing outward.
