The study used Data Envelopment Analysis to uncover the true relationships between inputs and outputs in rice production in Kwara State, Nigeria. Traditional methods assume all farms use technology efficiently, but in reality, differences in factors and management lead to hidden inefficiencies. By applying DEA to identify efficient farms, the researchers were able to estimate a production function that accurately reflects input-output relationships in rice farming.
