New method accurately predicts soil properties in frozen regions.
Researchers have developed a new method to estimate soil properties in cold regions by using existing data from non-frozen soils. By analyzing the similarities between wetting and freezing processes in soil, they were able to predict soil freezing characteristics accurately. The approach successfully determined unfrozen water content and hydraulic conductivity for different soils at subzero temperatures. The study also discussed how soil bulk density affects these properties in various soils.
