C-Cbl protein discovery unlocks new control over immune response proteins.
The study found that cells lacking c-Cbl have higher levels of STAT1 and STAT5 proteins. This increase is due to faster production of STAT1 protein, not slower breakdown. Other proteins like STAT2 and STAT3 are not affected by c-Cbl. This shows a new way c-Cbl controls STAT1 function.
