Accelerating Winter Cauliflower Breeding: Faster Generation Times, Better Varieties!
Researchers conducted experiments to see if they could speed up the breeding process for cauliflower plants. They tested seeds from different stages of maturity, grown at different temperatures, to see which ones germinated the fastest. Seeds grown at 20°C, harvested 42 days after pollination, and germinated at 25°C showed the best results. This method could potentially save time in breeding programmes for cauliflower.
