Oxy-fuel combustion boosts energy output and slashes CO2 emissions from oil shale
Oxy-fuel combustion with flue gas recycling in a CFB boiler can increase the amount of heat released during oil shale combustion. By maintaining a recycled flue gas ratio above 0.7, the extent of carbonate minerals decomposition can be decreased, leading to more heat released per kg of fuel. This method allows for a smaller specific emission of CO2 compared to other types of coal.
