Cultured red sea bream have significantly higher lipid content than wild ones.
The study compared the nutritional content of cultured red sea bream from different locations and feeding methods with wild red sea bream. Cultured fish had higher lipid content than wild fish, even lean cultured fish had 3.6 times more lipids. Fish fed moist pellets had lower lipid content in their organs. Fish from marifarms had lower lipid content in their meat compared to net cages, but higher lipid content in certain parts of older fish.
