Turning Coal Waste into Valuable Fuel Boosts Energy Access for Underserved Regions
The researchers investigated how to turn high-ash coal into a cleaner product for industrial use. By using different methods for various coal sizes, they were able to produce a clean coal product with only 12% ash content. This clean coal can be used in metallurgical processes, while the remaining coal can be used in other industries like sponge iron production and power generation. This study shows that by using a specific process, high-ash coal can be transformed into a valuable low-ash product for different industrial purposes.
