Climate Simulation Breakthrough: Very-Fine-Resolution GCMs Outperform Downscaling for Temperature, Precipitation Trends
The study compared a high-resolution computer model with a regional climate model to see which one better simulates China's climate. The high-resolution model was found to be more accurate in predicting air temperature and trends, while the regional model performed better for precipitation. Overall, the high-resolution model shows promise for future climate simulations, but the regional model is still better for predicting regional precipitation patterns.
