New study reveals high aquifer potential in Western Niger Delta.
A study in Nigeria used geoelectric soundings to find and measure underground water sources. They found four layers of soil and identified two sandy layers as the aquifer. The depth to the aquifer ranged from 6.4m to 28.1m, with an average of 17.5m. The aquifer's thickness varied from 15.1m to 67.1m, with an average of 28.24m. By combining different measurements, they estimated the aquifer's ability to transmit water and found that 75% of the area had high water potential, while 25% had moderate potential.
