Toxic Heavy Metals Found in Wetland Plants and Sediments in Miankaleh Lake.
The study looked at how heavy metals accumulate in aquatic plants and sediments in the Miangol Lake wetland. They examined three plant species and found that lead, zinc, copper, and cadmium concentrations were highest in the roots of Phragmites australis and Typha angustifolia, while Potamogeton crispus showed uniform accumulation in all plant parts. Lead levels were highest in sediments, while zinc, copper, and cadmium levels were highest in the plants.
