Europeans demand more social democracy, dissatisfied with current system.
The study looked at how Europeans feel about democracy in 2012. Europeans generally like liberal democracy, but have mixed feelings about direct democracy and are unhappy with social democracy. People in different countries have different expectations for democracy, and the worse they think democracy is in their country, the more they want from it. Overall, Europeans are satisfied with liberal democracy, not so sure about direct democracy, and unhappy with social democracy. The main issue in Europe is with social democracy. People's views on democracy are influenced by political and economic factors, rather than cultural ones.
