A new method called interaction balance optimization was developed to solve complex engineering problems more efficiently. This method combines two strategies to balance interactions between different parts of a design. By using Lagrange multipliers instead of compatibility constraints, the method maintains consistency between different disciplines without slowing down the calculations. Two examples were provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.
