Intercropping maize with soybean boosts yield and growth significantly with nitrogen.
A study looked at how growing maize with soybeans and adding nitrogen affected maize growth and yield. They tested different combinations of crops and nitrogen levels in a field experiment. Maize plants grew better when intercropped with soybeans compared to growing alone. The maize yield was higher when grown with soybeans, especially in a 1:1 ratio. Adding nitrogen also increased maize yield compared to not adding any. Overall, growing maize with soybeans and adding nitrogen can improve maize growth and yield.
