New Chemicals Boost Mango Flowering and Fruit Set in Ultra-Dense Planting.
A study was done to see how different chemicals affect flowering and fruit set in Alphonso mango trees grown close together. They tested 11 treatments on the trees and found that using certain chemicals led to longer flower clusters and more flowers per tree. Some treatments made the trees flower earlier and have more fruit. One treatment had the most hermaphrodite flowers, which are needed for fruiting. Overall, using specific chemicals can help mango trees produce more flowers and fruit, improving the harvest.
