The Longfengtou Beach in China has been eroded due to seawall construction. A nourishment project was done in 2011 but the shoreline still retreated. A model was created to predict shoreline changes with different engineering schemes. Breakwaters help protect the beach, but erosion still occurs. Seasonal nourishment is needed to maintain the shoreline.
