Moso Bamboo Mixed Forests Boost Biomass Growth and Ecosystem Health.
The study compared different types of Moso Bamboo forests in Fujian Province. They looked at how the trees were managed and how much biomass they produced. The results showed that the forests with a mix of bamboo and broadleaf trees had the highest individual tree biomass. The stems of the bamboo made up the largest portion of the biomass. The forest with a mix of bamboo and China fir had the highest overall biomass per hectare. Overall, the way the forests were managed had a big impact on how much biomass they produced.
