Inefficient TCM hospitals in western regions drive up healthcare costs.
The study looked at how efficient traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospitals are across the country. They used a special model to analyze data from 60 TCM hospitals and found that on average, about 22.59% of resources were being used inefficiently. Efficiency tended to decrease as hospitals moved from east to west. Factors like bed usage and the number of health technicians affected overall costs. The best way to measure efficiency in TCM hospitals is with the model they used. To improve efficiency, hospitals should focus on better resource management and reducing waste.
