The study looked at how wind turbines in a large wind farm can affect wind energy resources. By analyzing a 2,000 km2 area with 6,667 wind turbines, researchers found that wind speed at 65 meters height decreases when wind farms are present. This decrease lessens as wind speed increases, due to the drag coefficient of the turbines. The average wind power density drops by 58.45% when wind farms are installed in the area.
