The study looked at how taking energy from underground water affects the temperature of the rocks around it. They used a computer model to see how different water flow speeds and directions change the temperature. They found that faster water flow makes the temperature go back to normal faster. Also, if the water flows in the same direction as the energy wells, the temperature changes are smaller.
