Boost Crop Yields by Timing Phosphorus Fertilizer Application for Maximum Benefit
A study looked at how applying phosphorus fertilizer affects crop yields in a specific planting sequence. They found that adding phosphorus during the growth of the first crop (rape) increased its yield by at least 17.01%. The growth of the second crop (early-season rice) was affected by the phosphorus applied during the first crop's growth. The growth of the third crop (late-season rice) was influenced by the phosphorus applied during the second crop's growth. However, the yield of the late-season rice was not affected by phosphorus fertilizer. To maximize economic benefits, it is recommended to apply phosphorus during the first crop's growth and nitrogen and potassium fertilizers during the growth of the second and third crops.
