Full sunlight harms Japanese yew seedlings, 30% light optimal for growth
Japanese yew seedlings were studied under different light conditions to see how it affects their photosynthesis and fluorescence. The seedlings did best under 30% of full light, with the highest chlorophyll levels and photosynthetic rates. Full light caused a decrease in chlorophyll and photosynthesis. Seedlings under 30% light had the highest efficiency in converting solar energy. Seedlings under full light showed signs of damage to their photosynthetic mechanism. Overall, 30% light was found to be the most suitable condition for Japanese yew seedlings.
