The article discusses how computer-aided engineering (CAE) technology can help in designing, analyzing, manufacturing, operating, and maintaining high-end equipment. It reviews the progress of CAE technology in China and abroad, focusing on three areas: structure, fluid, and fluid-structure coupling. The key finding is that further advancements in CAE technology are needed to accurately analyze extreme service environments. This includes developing technologies for multi-physics field coupling, cross-scale analysis, multi-disciplinary design, and product performance evaluation to support modern design and full life-cycle management of equipment.
