Land-use changes in Yinshan Mountains impacting farming and pastoral regions.
The study looked at how land is used in the middle of the Yinshan Mountains. Using satellite images, the researchers studied changes in farmland, grassland, and woodland from 1990 to 2000. They found that farmland and grassland often switch places, while woodland tends to become grassland. Most changes happen at specific elevations, with grassland increasing at lower altitudes and woodland decreasing in most areas. The most intense changes occur at certain altitudes, showing how land use is shifting in the mountainous farming-pastoral region.
