Beilun Estuary Study Reveals Unpredictable Currents and Tidal Patterns.
The researchers used a mathematical model to study the current characteristics of the Beilun estuary. They found that the model accurately simulated the current movement in the estuary. The estuary experiences irregular diurnal tidal currents, with ebb currents being faster and lasting longer than flood currents. The residual current is generally weak and flows in the same direction as the ebb current. The K1 and O1 current constituents have higher amplitudes compared to the M2 constituent.
